Ostrich Products

The ostrich meat product, whose texture is extremely fine, is similar in terms of appearance to beef. This meat, with exceptional nutritional qualities, combines exoticism and sophistication. This is a very tender meat with refined taste, low in calories and low in fat (1-2%). It packs a good protein content (20-22%), phosphorus (ostrich meat contains even more phosphorus than fish meat), iron, magnesium, potassium, and like the emu, the meat is very low in cholesterol. Red Meat lovers, or people prone to cardiovascular problems, should try the ostrich meat, as it is so tender, and is the perfect food because of its dietary and energy content.

The edible parts of the ostrich are the back, buttocks, and thighs. The filet mignon is taken from the lower back; it is the tenderest part.

Ostrich is a very moist red meat, it remains juicy during cooking. We can eat it in a stew, broiled or seared the skillet. Ostrich meat should not be overcooked, because it would lose its flavor and will not be appreciated at its true value. To enhance its taste, the meat goes well with berries like blackberries, currants, raspberries, cranberries, etc.

In addition, the ostrich meat has fewer calories, less cholesterol and less fat than other meats.

For their part, the huge ostrich eggs can contain up to 24 chicken eggs. They are wonderful for omelettes and quiches. In addition, empty, we can turn them into true works of art.
